Quality and Compliance Director at Exemplar Health Care
Helen Baxendale is Clinical Director at Exemplar Health Care. She’s responsible for ensuring that our residents receive the highest standards of nursing care, and that our care homes meet regulatory standards and requirements.
Helen is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Older Person’s Nurse Fellow of the Florence Nightingale Faculty at King’s College London.
With 31 years working as a qualified Nurse and 26 years in the care sector, Helen has a breadth of experience working across social care, operations and clinical governance, which she brings to her role as Clinical Director at Exemplar Health Care.
One of Helen’s main roles, along with her team, is to implement the Exemplar Quality Assurance (EQA) framework, which ensures compliance with quality and regulatory standards across our care homes.
She also oversees the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures, in line with the latest best practice, and designs and delivers specialist clinical training for colleagues.
Helen plays an active role in our Service User Council, which gives ambassadors from our care homes the opportunity to come together, give their feedback and share ideas to enhance the care that they receive.
She approaches this role with care and enthusiasm, and her long-term goal is to remove the fear that people and their families have of care homes.
