Ribble View resident, Julie, starts new voluntary role in local community

At Exemplar Health Care, we encourage people to engage in meaningful activities, and learn, volunteer and find new hobbies if they wish.

One of our residents at Ribble View, Julie, loves to keep herself busy. She’s one of the home’s Service User Ambassadors and takes on a number of roles in the home, including organising activities, baking and cleaning.

At one of our Service User Council meetings, Julie expressed her desire to return to work, meet new people and get involved in the local community.

The team at Ribble View got to work in finding Julie the perfect volunteering role and before long, she secured a new voluntary role at the local community centre.

Julie now attends the local community centre every Tuesday for four hours. She soon settled in and proved herself more than capable of assisting with the food bank on her first day.

Natalie, Activities Coordinator at Ribble View, shares: “Julie finds her role very rewarding. She's always eager to get to work and is growing so confident, seamlessly falling into her responsibilities.

“She has already made some beautiful friendships at the local community centre and is already a massive energy and character every week!”
