Occupational Therapist jobs

Our Occupational Therapists oversee a clinical caseload and provide specialist assessments, clinical diagnoses and interventions to support people to achieve their goals and overcome the challenges they face when completing everyday activities.

What does a Occupational Therapist do?

Our Occupational Therapists provide a high quality service to support people to maximise their independence and build their everyday living skills.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • carrying out assessments

  • working with people, their loved ones and professionals to develop and deliver person-centred care plans for occupational therapy

  • focusing interventions on self-care, leisure and productivity to promote independence and meaningful occupation

  • monitoring, evaluating and recording people’s progress, and updating and adapting their care plan as required

  • using equipment, such as appliances and aids, safely as part of therapy interventions, and ensuring that colleagues, individuals and families are adequately trained.

What skills and qualifications do I need to work as a Occupational Therapist?

To work as an Occupational Therapist with Exemplar Health Care, you must have a BSc or MSc in occupational therapy and be HCPC registered.

What training and career development can I do as an Occupational Therapist? 

There are lots of opportunities to learn and develop in your career as an Occupational Therapist.

When you start with us, you’ll do a company induction which covers basic training such as health and safety and first aid.

After that, you’ll do a role specific induction in your home with the support of a buddy.
