A day to remember: Woodside Place opens its doors in Telford

Exemplar Health Care proudly opened Woodside Place, our first care home in Telford, and what a day it was!

The sun shone brightly as we welcomed guests, colleagues, and local supporters into our beautiful garden for the big day.

At the heart of the celebration was Jennifer Fayle, the first person to move into the new home.

Jennifer had the honour of cutting the ribbon and officially opening her new home. Jennifers smile said it all, this is a place built with people at its heart.

The atmosphere was warm and joyful as colleagues took great pride to decorate the home, setting the stage for an unforgettable day.

Friends, residents, and partners from Deeley Construction came together to celebrate this exciting milestone. Their support highlighted the strong community spirit behind Woodside Place.

Guests enjoyed a personal tour of the home, led by Jennifer. She shared her experience of moving in and pointed out the carefully designed features that make Woodside Place a special place to live. From the spacious en-suite bedrooms to the vibrant communal spaces, it was clear how much thought and care has gone into creating the home.

The highlight of the day was when Jennifer unveiled a commemorative plaque, before cutting a ceremonial ribbon, officially declaring Woodside Place open.

Her speech moved guests as she spoke from the heart, sharing her journey moving into the home, and appreciation for the support she’s received. It was a powerful moment as she thanked our dedicated team for their commitment to providing truly person-centred care.

Located on Woodside Avenue, Woodside Place is a modern, purpose-built home designed to support adults living with complex needs arising from dementia, mental health conditions, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.

The home features 33 large bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. It’s divided into three small units, helping create a calm, homely environment that’s more responsive to individual needs.

Every detail has been thoughtfully designed and equipped to deliver outstanding care and support. From the activities hub, beauty salon, sensory bathrooms, therapy room, and accessible garden create a warm and empowering space for the people who live here.

The opening of Woodside Place marks a major step for Exemplar Health Care and for the Telford community. The new home reinforces our commitment to offer person-centred care to even more individuals, helping them lead fulfilling lives.
