Exemplar Health Care is proud to announce the official opening of Coronation Court, our 57th care home in the UK.
The brand-new home, Coronation Court was officially opened by Steve Thornley, Leader of Cannock Chase Council, during a special ceremony attended by residents, families, local dignitaries, and members of the Exemplar Health Care team.
Guests were given a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, which feature modern living spaces and landscaped gardens.
Celebrating Coronation Court with the local community
During the event, Councillor Steve Thornley officially declared the home open and spoke about the positive impact of the development.
Speaking at the event, Steve Thornley said:
“I was delighted to officially open Coronation Court in Cannock. This is more than just a new building, it’s a place where compassion, dignity, and quality of life will flourish.
It will make a lasting difference to the local community, providing essential care and support for adults with complex needs for many years to come.”
Councillor Maureen Freeman, Portfolio Leader for Regeneration and High Streets praised the investment in the local area, saying:
“It was fantastic to attend the official opening of Coronation Court, which thanks to Exemplar Health Care investing in Cannock, we have seen develop from an underused car park, into a state-of-the-art facility.
Coronation Court not only provides high-quality care for residents with complex needs but has also created stable and rewarding jobs for local people.”
Supporting the local economy
The event marked an exciting milestone in Exemplar Health Care’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care across the country.
The opening also brings 100 new jobs to the local area, strengthening Exemplar Health Care’s reputation as a trusted employer in the care sector.
“This new service reflects our commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care for adults living with complex needs.
"We know our service is in high demand for individuals and families in the Cannock Chase area, and our dedicated team is looking forward to working with local commissioners, social workers and families to make a positive difference to people who need long-term nursing care and support.”
A name chosen to mark a historic year
Coronation Court takes its name from the historic coronation of Kings Charles III, which took place in the same year construction began on the home. We launched an internal naming competition inviting colleagues from across Exemplar Health Care to suggest ideas for the new home.
The winning name ‘Coronation Court’ was chosen for its sense of occasion and community pride, symbolising a new era for the nation and a new chapter for Exemplar Health Care in the Cannock Chase area.
A warm welcome to Coronation Court for new residents
There are no other complex care provisions in the local area, making Coronation Court a unique asset to the local community.
The new home has 33 large bedrooms, each with an ensuite wet room, split across three small communities. With this small group living model, it provides a supportive, homely environment that’s fully responsive to people’s needs. Facilities include communal dining and living spaces, a therapy room, activities hub, sensory bathrooms, a beauty salon, and an accessible garden.
People living at Coronation Court will be able to access a wide range of personalised and therapeutic care, tailored to their needs and preferences. The new team prides itself on empowering the people who live at the home to maximise their independence in a way that works for them based on their healthcare needs, whilst providing the support they need to live fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
“We’re deeply committed to creating an environment that fosters inclusivity and empowerment, and I am certain the home will have a profoundly positive impact as we help more people to live in a homely setting that they can make their own.
“The whole team wants to create a warm and vibrant community where individuals can thrive, families can find support, and compassionate care is at the forefront of everything we do. We’re still looking for people to join our team and who reflect our values and want to help make every day better for the people who live here.”
