Tees Grange opens in Stockton to become Exemplar Health Care's 40th care home

We’re delighted to announce that our new complex needs care home in Stockton-on-Tees, Tees Grange is now open.

Tees Grange, based on Norton Road in Stockton-on-Tees, has become Exemplar Health Care's 40th care home to register with CQC.

The brand new home is our first to open in County Durham, and is one of many to finish construction as part of our ambitious growth plans.

About Tees Grange

Tees Grange will provide a supportive environment in which people will receive the specialist nursing care they need, and are able to stay closer to their loved ones. The home will support adults living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.

Tees Grange has 30 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across three units. With this small group living, we’ve found we’re able to provide a supportive environment that’s more responsive to people’s needs.

Each unit has a communal dining room, lounge, quiet lounge and a sensory bathroom. In addition, there is an activities hub, an accessible garden, hair salon and a therapy room providing a dedicated space for rehabilitation.

The home has been beautifully decorated throughout but we encourage people to personalise their rooms so that it feels like home. Whether that’s a full re-decoration or encouraging people to bring special items that are filled with fond memories.

Exemplar Health Care’s mission is to make every day better for the people we support. Our approach to care is personalised to the individuals that we support. We work with them, their loved ones and professionals to design a care plan that’s tailored to their goals.

Speaking about the opening, Catherine Pearson, Home Manager at Tees Grange care home said:

“I’m looking forward to welcoming our first resident into the home. We want to ensure that we build a positive and supportive community in the home, that provides the right ’fit’ for the people we support.” 

“We’ve recruited a highly skilled and trained team of Health Care Assistants and Registered Nurses for the home. Our high staffing levels will enable us to support people’s holistic needs and build trust, which leads to better outcomes for our residents.
