Are you a caring, compassionate person with lots to give? This is an exciting opportunity to join us as our new Positive Behaviour Support Champion in Sheffield.
As a Positive Behaviour Support Champion, you’ll support adults living with complex care needs to live their best lives.
We’re looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant, looking to use their skills to influence and support the use of positive behaviour support (PBS) within the home.
Although you’ll spend some of your time providing hands on care, your role will focus on organising and facilitating PBS training, ensuring compliance and providing support and guidance to colleagues.

About the role
As a Positive Behaviour Support Champion with Exemplar Health Care, you'll be making every day better for the people we support, whatever that looks like to them.
No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
organising and facilitating Exemplar Positive Behaviour Support Level 1 training, while promoting and encouraging the implementation of the Positive Behaviour Support model within your home
supporting your homes compliance with Exemplar Positive Behaviour Support training and to ensure paperwork from any training sessions is promptly handled
assisting the Registered Nurse and wider care team in the assessment and delivery of individualised and personalised care
helping to develop creative problem-solving solutions and reducing the use of restrictive practices
demonstrating a good range of communication skills and displaying respect, dignity and compassion
willing to teach and/or support other care colleagues and learners, within the remit of their experience and training
supporting people with their personal care
assisting people at mealtimes
understanding individual health and wellbeing needs
encouraging and supporting people to take part in social activities, both in and out of the home
promoting choice, dignity, independence and respect
completing and maintaining care records .

To apply for this role, you’ll:
have knowledge of delivering personalised care and will have at least 2-years’ experience in a healthcare setting
be able to use common ICT programmes
have a full driving licence and use of a vehicle (desirable)
be available to work between the hours of 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday for training (an agreed upon shift pattern that’ll enable you to deliver training will be agreed with the home once training is complete)
be able to travel nationally for the first 10 weeks of your post while you are training with the Behaviour Support Team.

Directions to Longley Park View
Longley Park View is a short drive from the M1 and other major roads including the A6109 Meadowhall Road and A61 Halifax Road.
If you're travelling south on the M1, take the A629 exit to Rotherham (N).
If you're travelling north on the M1, take the A6178 exit to Sheffield/Rotherham/Meadowhall.
Longley Park View is situated on Longley Lane, opposite Piper Road.
There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available along Longley Lane.

The home is a short walk from several bus stops.
Longley Lane/Longley Hall Road bus stop (stop ID: 37023322), which is accessed by buses 18, 18a, 97 and 98.
