This is an exciting opportunity to work for a forward-thinking and growing provider. Join us as our new Clinical Psychologist for acquired brain injuries (ABI) with neuro behaviours! Based initially at Shire Oaks Court care home in Walsall.
In this role, you’ll act in a proactive manner to commission new units for people who have an ABI with neuro behaviours and support services to improve their quality of life and offer the best possible care.

About the role
As a Clinical Psychologist with Exemplar Health Care, you’ll create the company strategy for acquired brain injury with neuro behaviours whilst commissioning a pilot unit. You’ll then use this to create a blueprint for other services.
No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
ensuring the highest standards of care is provided to people with acquired brain injury and a neuro behaviour, and complex neurological conditions
working closely with the relevant multi-disciplinary team of professionals and commissioners involved in peoples care
providing specialist neuropsychology to those identified with an acquired brain injury, and regularly attend scheduled review meetings
undertaking high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions in our services as appropriate, taking professional responsibility and exercising autonomous judgement in professional practice
ensuring the clinical effectiveness of your own practice and service delivery by using appropriate outcome measures, collating evidence of good practice, and supporting lessons learnt
training staff to the high standard required for supporting people with the range of presenting difficulties and complex presentations within the newly commissioned ABI with neurobehavior units.

About you

professional registration as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council (HPC)
strong focus on the care of people we support
excellent written and verbal communication skills

flexibility to travel to all locations of the business.

Directions to Shire Oaks Court
Shire Oaks Court is close to the M6 and other major roads including A5 and A452.
The home is just off the A461/Lichfield Road, opposite Walsall Wood School.
There are limited parking spaces in the home’s car park. Street parking is available along Brownhills Road.
Public transport to Shire Oaks Court
The home is a short walk from several bus stops.
Streets Corner bus stop, which is accessed by buses 24, 936 Platinum, 937 Platinum and 937A Platinum.
Occupation Road bus stop, which is accessed by buses 9A, 9S, 10 and 24.
Oak Park bus stop, which is accessed by bus 10.
There are no train stations within walking distance of the home. The nearest train station is approximately a 20 minute drive away.
Walsall - 4.4 miles away (15 minute drive).
