Edgewater opens in Wallasey following CQC registration

Our brand new care home, Edgewater is officially registered with CQC, along with the Home Manager, Sarah McKee.

The home, located on Alfred Road in Seacombe, Wallasey, is now ready to open its doors to its first residents following registration from the regulator.

Edgewater is Exemplar Health Care’s third specialist nursing home in Merseyside, bringing this much needed service to the area.

Edgewater will provide a welcoming and supportive home for adults living with complex and high acuity needs. The home has 30 bedrooms, each with an en-suite wet room, across three units. There are communal dining and living spaces, an activities hub, sensory bathroom and a large accessible garden. The home also has a provision for bariatric care.

The trained team of Health Care Assistants, Registered Nurses and Therapists specialise in supporting those living with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities and physical disabilities.

The team will be supported by Home Manager, Sarah McKee and Clinical Nurse Manager, Jane Lockwood. Together, they bring a wealth of experience working in complex and high acuity care settings.

Sarah joined Exemplar Health Care in March 2022 to open Edgewater. Sarah has experience in working with adults with complex care needs including mental health, brain injury, learning disability and autism. 

She shares: “I’m most excited to be part of this amazing new service and see the development of a new team, as well as welcoming our first residents and seeing them settle into their new surroundings. My goal is to create a successful home that provides outstanding care!”
