Marmaduke care home in Hull marked its first anniversary last week with cakes, food and gifts!

Marmaduke, which opened its doors to its first resident last May, had undergone a £2.9 million refurbishment to provide Hull with a new state-of-the-art nursing home supporting adults living with complex mental health needs and neuro-disabilities.

The home opened in Spring 2020, and is currently home to 16 residents with complex needs. In September 2020, the home was officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Lynn Petrini.

At a party held at the home last week, staff and colleagues who have been working at the home since it first opened were awarded gifts, including bracelets and watches.

Marmaduke’s Home Manager, Sarah Kirk, at Exemplar Health Care, said: “I cannot believe a full year has passed but what an amazing year it’s been.

"Marmaduke is now a welcoming home for 16 service users and a great place to work for 60 colleagues.

"I am so proud to have been part of the past year and creating such a beautiful specialist home for those who need support."
