We’re delighted to share that our Head of Nursing, Lianne Ford, has won The Social Care Research Award at this year’s Social Care Leadership Awards.
The award celebrates nurse-led research that shapes evidence-based practice and promotes research to improve the lives of people in social care.
Lianne was recognised for her exceptional contribution to several research projects that have benefited the people we support, our colleagues, and the wider sector.
Some of her key work includes:
expanding our sector-leading work on sexuality and intimacy in care homes, co-producing training and policy that respect identity, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
contributing to the national VIVALDI Care Home Study, helping build a data set that informs infection control and health service use in care homes
strengthening our research infrastructure so Exemplar Health Care can play an active role in national research and shared learning.
The judges said:
“Lianne was a clear winner for her exceptional leadership and commitment to creating positive change for everyone delivering and receiving social care.
“Her influence in embedding research is multi-dimensional - from implementing VIVALDI in her organisation to championing inclusion and changing perceptions around sexuality, intimacy, and relationships in care.
“Her person-centred approach and passion for hearing and acting on the voices of people who draw on care is truly inspiring.”
About her win, Lianne shared:
“I feel incredibly proud to win this award.
“Research is key to closing knowledge gaps, challenging assumptions, and making sure our care is informed by evidence and co-production.
“Adult social care is still under-researched compared to health care, so I’m proud to be part of changing that - showing how research can drive innovation and improve lives.”
We’re also thrilled to share that Lianne is a finalist for ‘The Care Innovator Award’ at the West Midlands Great British Care Awards - another well-deserved recognition of her impact and dedication.
